TOWN HALL Scholars
Since 2012, together with our Partners The Oberndorf Family Foundation and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, we are proud to have involved area high school students to our presentations.
Two deserving seniors with remarkable academic and community service accomplishments are selected from each high school by their principals to enjoy the privilege of attending a TOWN HALL lecture and meeting the speaker as “TOWN HALL Scholars.” Students are then invited to submit an essay sharing the impact each speaker’s words had on them and how it relates to their own life experiences. Up to 15 students, supported by an outstanding academic record, are awarded a $2,000 college scholarship.
Over the past seven years, the TOWN HALL Scholars Program has provided 88 scholarships to deserving regional high school students, as well as afforded more than 750 students the opportunity to attend the lecture series, providing them valuable life experience.
This partnership and the amazing program allows our TOWN HALL series to impact our region’s youth.
